What We Do
Community Service - Our members volunteer at schools, churches, and nonprofit organizations. We honor the service of our community's first responders. We support women's organizations such as SafeHouse.
Members delivered cookies to the Saline firemen in appreciation of their service to the community.
Donated teaching supplies to the Center in 2023.
Our members visited SafeHouse and delivered much needed personal items on behalf of our chapter.

Patriotism - We distribute between 500-1,000 American flags annually to spectators at the Dexter Memorial Parade. Our local veterans appreciate our participation in their events and our support of the VA Hospital. Active military receive cards, gift cards, knit hats and scarves from our chapter. ROTC cadets receive recognition each year.
Cadets are honored and invited to speak at March chapter meetings.

Historical Preservation - Our chapter maintains grave sites and installs historical markers. We honor the Constitution by encouraging local mayors to annually proclaim September 17-23 as Constitution Week. We transcribe Revolutionary War documents for the University of Michigan Clements Library.
Our chapter completed another fall cleanup at this small Ann Arbor cemetery where Patriots William and Sarah Terhune are interred.
Two Patriots were buried in this small cemetery, Ensign John Terhune and Sarah Vreeland Terhune.
We appreciate the historical documents and maps that are preserved at the Clements library.

Education - We sponsor an essay contest for local high school students on the topic of good citizenship. Our chapter also supports four DAR schools nationally.
