The Sarah Caswell Angell Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), was organized on July 3, 1896. It was chartered in Ann Arbor on April 30, 1897. NSDAR was founded just seven years earlier, on October 11, 1890. NSDAR is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and is a nonprofit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.
